Water accidents can happen in an instant. Protect your child now.

Swim with Ms. Kim ISR specializes in life-saving swim lessons for children aged 6 months to 6 years old in Thibodaux, LA.

What is ISR?

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is the global leader in survival swimming instruction, teaching life-saving self-rescue skills to children 6 months to 6 years old. With over 55 years of research and development and the industry's highest safety standards, we've delivered more than 19 million lessons, helping children build both safety skills and confidence in the water.

Our mission is clear: "Not One More Child Drowns." While we strongly advocate for pool fences, alarms, and active adult supervision, we recognize that these traditional safety measures aren't enough on their own. ISR's innovative approach puts children at the center of drowning prevention. With over 450,000 graduates and hundreds of documented survival stories, we've proven that children can learn to save themselves.

Our method works because we understand that children are naturally curious and capable. Rather than rely solely on barriers, we equip them with the skills they need if they ever find themselves in water alone. We transform that natural curiosity into life-saving capability, creating confident swimmers and peace of mind for parents.

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Kimberly Smith, and I am a certified ISR Instructor in Thibodaux, Louisiana.  Becoming a certified ISR instructor was one of the most exciting times of my life.  I am passionate about teaching children to self-rescue and learn to become aquatic problem solvers.

My husband, Kevin, and I have always made learning to swim a “must-do” in our family.  We spent many early Saturday mornings at swim meets for our children. One of our go-to date nights is swimming laps and getting dinner out.  I completed several triathlons when I was younger and enjoy swimming laps for exercise.  I spent the last 20 years homeschooling my three children in Houston, Texas.  Just as my youngest went off to college, my husband was transferred to Louisiana.  Ready to make a new career move during my “empty-nest” years, I combined my love for swimming and teaching.  I have always admired ISR  (Infant Swimming Resource) as the industry “Gold Stanard” for self-rescue swim lessons.  I then realized the need for survival swim lessons in Thibodaux, LA.  I am so excited to be on the ISR team and look forward to teaching your children to self-rescue.

I am proud to be a Certified ISR Instructor with current First Aid, Adult and Infant CPR certifications, and Liability Insurance.

  • Hi! I have to tell you this - we’re in Grand Isle and the kids were playing in the water all day. "O" face planted in the waves and before I could lift him out, he rolled over on his back and floated 🙌🏼 absolutely incredible to watch, and made me feel so much better with 3 kids in the water.

  • Our family was blessed to have Kim instruct our one year old for ISR. She was extremely kind, encouraging and attentive to our baby boy as he dreaded getting in the water everyday. By the end of our six week session he was all smiles and loved his time with Ms. Kim! ISR is one of the best decisions we have made for all of our young children.

  • We really enjoyed Kim as an instructor, she engaged so well with my daughter even in the short 10 minutes of every class. She took to what my daughter did and didn’t like about swim and helped her overcome it. We enjoyed swim so much and were tear free after the first couple classes. Now we swim so well & I couldn’t thank Kim enough!

It only takes a second

A moment’s inattention should not cost a child their life.
