Meet Your Instructor

My name is Kimberly Smith, and I am a certified ISR Instructor in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Becoming a certified ISR Instructor was one of the most exciting times of my life. I am passionate about teaching children to self-rescue and become confident aquatic problem solvers.

My husband, Kevin, and I have always made learning to swim a “must-do” in our family. We spent many early Saturday mornings at swim meets for our children, and one of our favorite date nights is swimming laps followed by dinner out. I completed several triathlons when I was younger and continue to enjoy swimming for exercise.

In addition to my ISR training, I bring years of professional swim instruction experience. While living in Houston, I taught traditional swim lessons and stroke development at two established swim schools, providing individualized, developmentally appropriate instruction to both children and adults.

I spent the last 20 years homeschooling my three children. When my youngest left for college and we relocated to Louisiana, I combined my love of teaching and swimming to pursue a new career path. I have long admired ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) as the industry gold standard for self-rescue swim lessons and recognized the need for these life-saving skills in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

I am proud to be a Certified ISR Instructor with current First Aid, Adult and Infant CPR certifications, and liability insurance, and I look forward to partnering with families to help their children gain essential self-rescue skills.
